In 2019, in Dunhuang, China, digital humanities scholars from China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and other countries gathered together to discuss "Digitalization of Cultural Heritage and Digital Humanities Research". This marked the beginning of the first Chinese Digital Humanities Annual Conference, with a global vision of shared progress and co-creation of the future.

In 2020, in Shanghai, the second Chinese Digital Humanities Annual Conference focused deeply on the issues related to digital humanities in China, under the theme "Benevolence and Excellence: Digital Humanities and Chinese Culture" During this conference, the Digital Humanities Professional Committee of the The China Society of Indexers (CSI) was officially established.

In 2023, the Digital Humanities Division of the Chinese Association for Literary and Art Theory was established. As the digital humanities academic community continues to expand and converge across various disciplines, many fields now have their own dedicated digital humanities branches. We are also envisioning the future of digital humanities in a symbiotic relationship with tangible reality ("Digital and Reality Coexistence: Envisioning the Future of Digital Humanities" - Wuhan, the Fifth Chinese Digital Humanities Annual Conference).

Today, the advent of the era of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) continuously challenges the boundaries of human-machine symbiosis and intelligent iteration, sparking a paradigm shift in digital scholarship and ushering in a new era for digital humanities. How can digital intelligence empower cognition, and how can civilization be preserved and continued? These questions demand a deep integration of humanities and technology. The idea of "Integrating Humanities and Sciences," proposed by Mr. Cai Yuanpei a century ago, has become increasingly relevant. Therefore, the Digital Humanities Professional Committee of the Chinese Indexing Society and the Digital Humanities Division of the Chinese Association for Literary and Art Theory plan to jointly hold an academic symposium on "Integration of Arts and Sciences: Digital Humanities in the Age of AGI" in early November 2024 at Shanghai University. This symposium, which will also serve as the 2024 Chinese Digital Humanities Annual Conference (CDH2024), aims to invite renowned experts and scholars from home and abroad to discuss cutting-edge issues in digital humanities and related fields. The conference will feature keynote speeches, plenary reports, panel discussions, youth debates, and case sharing, among other activities. We invite all humanities scholars, discipline experts, and students to submit papers and outstanding projects, and look forward to discussing the digital humanities in the AGI era with our colleagues.

Topics for papers include but are not limited to:

1. Opportunities, challenges, and transformations in the development of artificial intelligence and digital humanities;
